About DottoreAbout DottoreIl Dottore is an antagonist character in Genshin Impact. Whenever I speak of this mysterious mask-wearing mad scientist, I'm most often referring to the character we see in the Genshin Impact webtoon and not to the one we see in the video game's Archon Quest. They are different people despite having the same title and affiliation. Yes, this creates great amounts of confusion, I'm aware.
In the game, it's revealed that the original Dottore created clones of himself, known as Segments, in
order to preserve his cognition and physical form from different stages of his life. All of these
Segments are independent individuals
and would frequently argue with each other,
for example. Let's put it this way, if I created a clone of myself, set it free and allowed that clone
to explore the world on his own, he would eventually form his own ideas, opinions and world view.
After some years, we would have branched off into our separate individuals.
This is essentially how Il Dottore's Segments work.
With that explanation out of the way, I firmly believe that the Dottore we see in the Genshin Impact webtoon is a Segment and not the original Dottore, thus also being separate from the Dottore we see in the game. There are many reasons for this such as how differently game Dottore and webtoon Dottore seem to act, how their designs differ from each other, differences in temper, mannerisms and so on. One could explain this with the simple effects of aging and maturing, but I'm sceptical of this. Hence, I only claim to date webtoon Dottore, not game Dottore.
